Tacoma SR: Setting Higher Standards for Standard Features

As you may have guessed, we’re kicking off this trim level analysis with Tacoma’s base model, the Tacoma SR. Let us reiterate: This is the base model for the Toyota Tacoma. We don’t blame you if you have trouble remembering that, especially after you hear these specs.

It all begins with the exterior, where a fiber-reinforced Sheet-Molded Composite (SMC) bed lays the foundation for durability, protection, and strength. Speaking of protection, the Tacoma SR also includes skid plates on the front suspension and engine.

Details such as a standard 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way lumbar support for ultimate comfort during long drives. This seat—as well as the 4-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat—is clad in a lush fabric trim. The SR5 steering wheel also receives an upgrade with a soft leather trim.

Then there’s the tech. Accessing your favorite applications and programs is easy through the 8-inch touchscreen display. When you want to jam out, six speakers provide the ideal vessel for your favorite tunes.

While the SR5 is all about interior enhancements, the TRD Sport is all about that exterior. Turn heads with 17-inch machined alloy wheels and illuminate the road ahead with projector-beam headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL).
