The Beginning

When Kinsley’s founder, Kara, first moved to Zanesville, OH, she missed one thing from her previous home: the paint studio. She had found a love for creating decorative door hangers and realized that was something she could bring to her new community.

Kinsley’s Creative Palette exists to show other busy women how peaceful and rewarding it can be to take a little time out for yourself. Creating your own door hanger decoration is not only a fun creative outlet, but also a great way to build up your confidence.

Get Crafty

You’ll have loads of options for creative outlets once you join. There is a blog full of tips and tricks to help beginners get started. From making bows and finding the right kind of wood to learning to paint and support your mental health, the blog is a gold mine of helpful information.

There are even templates available on her website to help you find the shape, design, or lettering you need for your door hanger. Choose from seasonal designs for Christmas and Halloween, summer and fall, or themes spanning everything from school and babies to animals and transportation.

Shop blanks to get the base for your door hanger or the DIY Sign & Craft kits, which give you all the tools you need to create your masterpiece.

You can even subscribe to a monthly DIY Home Décor Box, which will give you a fun surprise craft kit each month. You’ll get the wooden DIY home décor project, all the supplies you’ll need, access to the Facebook group, and video instructions on how to do the project.

Taking Care of Yourself

While the core of these crafts centers around creating wooden door hangers, you’ll learn all kinds of additional skills. Painting techniques and hand lettering are only the tip of the iceberg, because a big part of each activity is self-care.

That focus on mental health is at the heart of everything at Kinsley’s. There is a Facebook community for members to build connections and share in each other’s accomplishments. In addition, each project is designed with the intention of building confidence.

The goal of each session is for everyone to come away from the craft feeling better than they did before they started. Taking a little bit of time to do something fun is the whole reason why Kinsley’s Creative Palette exists!
